Carrier APIs occasionally go down or slow down — that's outside Shipwell's control, but you shouldn't have to guess when it's happening.
\nShipwell's status page reports the current health of the platform, including connectivity to individual carriers. If a rating, dispatch, tracking, eBOL, or document request is failing or slower than usual, check the status page before assuming the issue is on your end — a carrier-side outage or degradation will show up there. You can subscribe to the status page for updates on incidents as they happen.
\nShipwell paces requests to each carrier on your behalf to keep the connection healthy and avoid triggering a carrier's own rate limits. You don't need to build your own retry or backoff logic per carrier — if a carrier is slow or temporarily unavailable, your request will still complete once the carrier is reachable again (or reach a terminal status — see Statuses).
\nIf a specific carrier is consistently slow or degraded for your account, contact your Shipwell representative rather than building around it — pacing and connection health are managed on Shipwell's side.
