Events and Webhooks

Get supply chain data updates and synchronize data from Shipwell with events and webhooks. When objects in Shipwell like orders, shipments, invoices, customers, etc. are created, updated, deleted or change status, you can get or receive the updates and sync data effortlessly.

The Shipwell Supply Chain Cloud has two primary ways to stay data connected:

  1. Event polling gives you control-your systems periodically make secure API requests to check for new events using the Shipwell Events API . Think of event polling as a pull-based method where your systems determine when to check for updates.

  1. Webhooks deliver updates instantly by posting data securely to your endpoints or URLs. There's no need to ask for events or poll. Think of webhooks as a push-based method to receive event data that's ideal for performance. Learn more about webhooks here .

Both methods are secure and encrypted. Whether you need the consistency of polling or the immediacy of webhooks, both ensure your systems are always up-to-date.

Choose the approach that works for you. Mix-and-match event polling and webhooks when it makes sense for a use case. Unify your supply chain data and get the capabilities you need with Shipwell.
